Parkos, Janet
Janet Parkos, age 80, of Kewaunee died on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at the Kewaunee Care Center. She was born in the Town of Franklin on November 15, 1934 to the late Charles and Rose (Smidel) Meyer.
She married Donald Parkos on November 11, 1953 and he preceded her in death on January 31, 2006. Janet was a busy homemaker and in 1976 Janet and Donald became owners of Parkos Oil Co., Inc. It was the first self-service station in Kewaunee and Janet enjoyed helping with the book work and waiting on customers. She was a member of Holy Rosary Parish and was proud to have all eight of her children attend Holy Rosary School. She was also a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved her family.
Survivors include seven daughters and sons-in law; Karen (David) Fager, Pulaski; Debbie (Mark) Sgarioto, Green Bay; Vicki (Frank) Salentine, Kewaunee; Bonnie (Charles) Kasal, Green Bay; Gail Kimball, Green Bay; Lisa Parkos, Green Bay; Tammy (Tom) Schneider, Kewaunee; one son Dean (Laurie) Parkos, Kewaunee; thirty-three grandchildren, Michelle Lindsey, Michael Fager, and Melissa Gay, Dustin and Jesse Nelson, Steve, Ben, and Jenny Salentine, Amber Selner, Andrew, Brittany, Adam, Alyssa, and Tiffany Salentine, Heidi Ritchie, Charles, Amy, Megan, and Darci Kasal, Toni Labar, Shamus, Brad, Aaron, and Josh Kimball, Chase Hill, Devon, Mallory, Dalton and Mariah Parkos, Gabrielle Parkos, Dylan, Dayna, and Jonah Schneider; twenty-eight great grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law: Clayton and MaryAnn Meyer, Kewaunee, two sisters and one brother-in-law: Lorraine Eesley, Two Rivers, Carol (Bob) Ledvina, Green Bay; two brothers-in-law: Joseph (Thelma) Parkos, California, and Dennis Parkos, Two Rivers; three sisters-in-law: Diane Frenz, Two Rivers, Jeanette Thomas, Two Rivers, and Sara Parkos, Two Rivers.
Friends may call at Holy Rosary Church on Tuesday, May 26, after 9:30 A.M. until the Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 A.M. celebrated by Father Ron Colombo. Entombment at Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, Manitowoc, WI.
