(Smith) YostJune 29, 1932 - May 22, 2015 NEWALLA Dorothy Esther (Smith) Yost, 82, of Newalla, OK, died peacefully on Friday, May 22, 2015, surrounded by her family. She was born June 29, 1932, in Cleveland, OH to Earl and Esther (Nelson) Turner. She attended both Oklahoma State University and University of Oklahoma. Dorothy's nursing career began at OU Medical Center, and she later retired from Cushing Hospital at age 81. She earned her master's degree in nursing at OU. Dorothy was passionate about traveling the world, made it to six continents, as well as quilting and gardening. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Esther (Nelson) Turner; her husband, Chester Smith; and sister, Marilyn Smith. Dorothy leaves to cherish her memories her children, Diane (David) Hampton, Bruce Smith, and Robert (Linda) Smith; siblings, Donald Turner, Vinola (Robert) Smith, Donna Smith, Joanne (Robert) Fordyce, and Evelyn Turner; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-great- grandchild; and a host of relatives and friends. Visitation Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at Sunny Lane Funeral Home, 12-8 p.m. Funeral Service 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at Sunny Lane Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery.
