Gary L. Braun, age 55, of Winchester, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at his residence after a courageous eight year battle with cancer.
He was born on January 10, 1960 in Portland to Joseph S. and Alice Jean (Stout) Braun. Gary was a 1978 graduate of Winchester Community High School. He drove a semi for Klemm Tank Lines and farmed. He loved being around his family and spending time with them. He was a loving husband and a devoted dad.
Gary is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Deb L. (Flatter) Braun of Winchester; two sons, Danny Braun (Kortni Marquette) and Randy Braun (Mollie Ried), both of Winchester; four sisters, Deb (Don) Blunk of Saratoga, Diana (Greg) Hersberger of Portland, Barb King of Union City, IN and Joette Kitts of Arizona; numerous nieces and nephews; two sister-in-laws, Beth Ann Weaver (Roger Myers) of Greenville, OH and Rhonda Flatter (Dean Hunt) of Winchester and father and mother-in-law, Danny and Beverly Flatter of Union City, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Connie Graham; and two brother-in-laws, Terry King and Brad Kitts.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Walker Funeral Home in Winchester. Burial will follow in Saratoga Cemetery in Saratoga.
Friends and relatives may call from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Cancer Services for Randolph County, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
