Pecora, Joseph
Joseph Pecora passed away on May 27, 2015. He was 84 years old. Joseph was born in the Bronx on February 1, 1931 to Martin and Giovanna (Sforza) Pecora. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and fought in the Korean War. Joseph moved to Rockland County in 1959, and was a prior resident of Jackson Heights. He was one of the principle owners of Delmonte Fuel Corp. in Manhattan, NY. Joseph was an avid Giants and Yankee fan. He loved to get lost in a good novel and enjoyed telling stories. He was a kind, generous, selfless man with a wonderful sense of humor who adored his family. He always looked at the bright side of a bad situation and will be missed by all who knew him. Joseph was predeceased by his first wife, Marie Ferrante, who passed August 17, 1977. He is survived by his longtime love and companion Helen Johnston; his children Robert and his wife Theresa of New City, NY, Martin and his wife Tacy of Georgia, and Jennifer and her husband David Gosselin of Williamsburg, VA; his sisters Anne Ricci of Brewster, NY and Joan Murphy of Barnegat, NJ; and his cherished grandchildren Marie, Joseph, David, Robert, Krista, Christina, Taylor, and Hunter. Family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Higgins Funeral Home in New City. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, 10am, St. Anthony's Church followed by interment at St. Anthony's Cemetery.
