Gale Cummings Taylor passed away peacefully at her home in Starkville, MS on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at 3:30 a.m. Gale was the daughter of Cecil and Lucille Cummings and was born on September 24, 1935 in Ecru, Mississippi. She was the granddaughter of James Herbert Windham, M.D. and John William Franklin Cummings, a merchant. She joined the Ecru Baptist Church at the age of 12. She graduated Valedictorian of her class at Ecru High School. She went on to attend Itawamba Community College and the University of Mississippi. Gale married Gerald Tyson Taylor on June 11, 1954. She spent her early years as a housewife and great mother to her four children. She worked at the A.S.C. and Tax Assessor's office. She also worked as a Bank Teller and at Mississippi State University as a clerk in the cheese office. She has also served as the Editor of the Mississippi Holstein News Magazine. Gale was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Starkville, MS. She loved the Lord Jesus Christ, her Sunday school class and her church. Gale also loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well. She kept her home spotless and really enjoyed flowers and her flower garden.

Gale is survived by her husband of 61 years, Gerald Taylor; one son, Steve G. Taylor (Margaret) of Starkville, MS; and three daughters, Tina Taylor Fawver (Todd) of Wichita, KS, Tammy Taylor Kilgore (George) of Smyrna, TN and Rita Taylor Willman (Robert) of Aurora, NE. Grandchildren include Loren Brooke Scarbrough, Josh Taylor (Lynn), Chelsea Taylor, Nathan Fawver and Zach Fawver. As well as three great grandchildren Sophie Taylor, Hayes Taylor and Zoey Gordy.

Visitation will be held from 12:30 - 2:00 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home on Saturday, May 30, 2015. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens.

Memorials may be made to the building program at the First Baptist Church of Starkville or the Palmer Home.
