Columbus, GA- Carlos Soto, Jr. Rivera, 73, of Columbus, GA, passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2015, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Carlos was born on May 3, 1943, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, the son of Carlos Lagaris Soto and Ana Maria Rivera. He retired from the US Army after 22 years of service, having earned the Bronze Star and Purple Heart and Combat Decorated.
Other than his parents he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Leta May Kniskern Soto and sister, Teresaita.
He is survived by 7 children, Carlos Soto, III, wife Liz, Ana Clarissa Soto 'Schiripo, Miriam Esther Soto, Joseph Evans Soto, wife, Michelle Henderson Bennett, Leticia Lynn Soto, husband, Michael Burton, Rebecca Ann Spears, and Nikki Mullins; 6 siblings, Leticia Soto, Olga Soto, Iris Perish Briggs, Miriam Kleinberger, Edward Jose Soto, and Juana Soto Foos; 11 grandchildren, Terry Leon Parrigan, Jr., Carlos Soto IV, Austin Cain Soto, Sarah Soto Wilkinson, Joseph Evans Soto, Jr., Eric Michael "Isaiah" Soto, Elijah Jesus Alejandre, Marcos Gonzalez Alejandre, Kaylee Mullins, Jeremiah Bennett, and Faith Henderson; many extended family members and caring friends.

Hey daddy its May 27th 2023 its going on 8 years now... they say the mind forgets after 7 but I cant say thats true Cause I remember everyday and I miss you more now then ever before.. So much I would tell you me and mike got married and going on 5 years now your granddaughter works at a very good job LCI for the blind your grandsons both work for Marcus Mitchum Yeah he has his own landscaping company and he´s doing big. You would be proud Joe got married yes i said Joe and he went out in the West Texas down in Elpaso.He fell in love with the Mexican girl. Just like this song goes daddy out in the West Texas down in Elpaso Joseph fell in love with a Mexican girl. Joseph´s driving truck now she travels all over just like he said he was gonna do. Go to my house and everything and you would be so proud of him. I love you daddy and I miss you so much. Tell mama hi and I love her and I miss her too.
