Melinda Sue DeLeon LUBBOCK-Melinda Sue DeLeon of Lubbock passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at the age of 48. She was born November 1, 1966 in Lubbock, Texas to Marvin and Sharon (Nelson) Franklin. She received her Associates Degree in Accounting; she was employed with Cox Communication as an Accountant. She married Cruz DeLeon on July 20, 1982. Melinda was a member at Southcrest Baptist Church. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Cruz; two daughters, Julia Lucero and Angela Hernandez and husband Josh; one son, Anthony DeLeon and wife Marisa Castro; two brothers, Eddie Franklin and David Lutz; one sister, Sherri Harbuck; grandchildren; J.J., Javen and Jeremiah Lucero, Jakobi and Aiden Hernandez, Dominic, Dionicio and baby girl DeLeon; and her beloved dogs, Chico and Gaben. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 4, 2015, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. and rosary beginning at 6 p.m. at Combest Family Memorial Chapel. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, June 5, 2015, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with interment to follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
