LORAIN – Maurice E. Barnett, 53, of Lorain, Ohio passed away Wednesday June 3, 2015 in Mercy New Life Hospice following a lengthy illness.
He was born November 16, 1961 in Lorain. He graduated from Lorain Catholic High School in 1980.
He was employed as a restaurant manager for Bob'S Big Boy and Apple Bee's.
He also worked as a customer services representative for Infocision.
He attended Restorative Gospel Baptist Church.
He enjoyed playing golf, and spending time with family and friends.
Maurice will be sadly missed by his wife of 25 years Doris D. Barnett (nee Johnson);son Nathan A. Barnett ;daughter Jessica (Abraham Jr.) Ortiz,; one brother Stan (Jeanette) Riley; sister Valerie Dillard; 6 nieces and nephews ;10 great nieces and nephews ; one honorary aunt Helen Crisp and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents William "Eddie" Barnett, and Lois(nee Riley) Barnett.
Visitation will be held Wednesday ,June 10, 2015 from 7pm-9pm at Brown-Robinson Funeral Home, 2652 Broadway Ave., Lorain, Ohio 44052, (440) 244-1831.
There will be a private burial for the immediate family .

Maurice was one manager responsible for hiring me 32 years ago at Big Boy. Always had a positive attitude, was very helpful, and great to work with. My condolences to his widow and the family. My prayers are with all of you. Maurice was a great guy.
