PETERS, Frank Albert Jr.
Frank Albert Peters, Jr, of Elmira Heights, NY, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 7, 2015, at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, NY, after a stroke. Born in Brooklyn, NY, to Frank and Dina Peters of Germany, he lived for 32 years in Brooklyn and the remainder in Elmira and Elmira Heights. Most recently he was a resident of Morgan Square Senior Apartments in Clay, NY. Frank served as a corrections officer for over 30 years in New York State, first at Sing-Sing, then Elmira Corrections Facility. There, he was known fondly as "Pete" by inmates and guards alike. He served briefly in the Marine Corps during World War II and the Korean War. He enjoyed his family, beach vacations, swimming, barbecuing, dogs, baseball (any team but the Yankees), cards, handball, movies, TV, games, and music. He was a kind, friendly, sweet man who was loved by all. Frank was married to Betty Johnson of Brooklyn, NY, for 19 years and Helen Petelchuk Arnold of Elmira Heights, NY, for 35 years. He is survived by sons Henry (Pauline) Arnold of Houston, TX, and Glenn (Pauline) Peters of Baldwinsville, NY, daughters Tina (Ron) Muraca of Syracuse, NY, Kyra Moore of Canton, OH, Patricia Peters of Elmira, NY, Caroline (Tim) Rascoe of Saratoga Springs, NY, and Diane (Rick) Eulo of Summerville, SC, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Frank was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend to all. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Sunday, June 14th from 11 am to 2 pm. His funeral service will follow at 2 pm. Frank will be laid to rest at Woodlawn National Cemetery in Elmira. A special thank you goes out to the doctors and nurses at Upstate University Hospital Neuroscience 9F and wing 10E for their loving care and support during Frank's last days. Also thank you to Walter J. Kent Funeral Home for all of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Frank's name to the ASPCA.

We didn't know your dad Glenn but we know you and we know that he leaves behind a beautiful legacy. Except for that Yankee part (lol) he sounds like a very special dad.
