Not sure what to say?

My heart is saddened on hearing the loss of a childhood friend. My brother Lee and I lived next to Martan and Doug growing up. Or attempting too. He was full of mischief and fun and we got into more trouble together than a person had a right too. All of it pretty tame in hindsight. We must have booked a million miles on our bikes.

We moved away when I was young but always thought of Martin and Jim Musich as my best childhood friends.

Smooth sailing my friend. Get the bait ready we're right behind you

Martin was probably my oldest friend. Growing up one street apart on the east side of Santa Cruz we shared many experiences together. Great memories of trout fishing the local creeks all day long. Zayante creek, San Vicente. His dad would drop us off in the AM and pick us up at night. We had nothing but our rods and a jar of salmon eggs. We started riding dirt bikes together too but Martin soon left me in the dust, literally and figuratively. Martin was a fearless rider and a fierce competitor, advancing to the Pro level. He was dealt a tough blow with his cancer but he stayed strong in spirit and strong in heart, and he is now at peace. Goodbye my friend....

I was sadden to hear the passing of Martin. I have Known Martin all my life as we were neighbors. He was a great man. He was one of the two people that taught me how to ride a dirtbike. Which is my passion in life. Many days riding out at stixs. And can't forget the summers salmon fishing and playing in the pool. And can't forget how to shoot a gun. You will be missed dearly. Godspeed Martin. And love to the Towne family.

Sorry to hear the passing of Martin. Remembering the long summer days back in the 60's in your 12ft. aluminum boat with a 5hp outboard all over the new yacht harbor, climbing up under the wharf, and hanging around the mile buoy waiting for the fog to lift. Calm seas ahead Martin. Calvin Smith Harbor High class of 71.

I am very sadden by the passing of Martin, we graduated from the same class together and it is very hard when someone from our class of 72 is gone. I wish I had been with him when he caught that fish, because that is one of my passion's as well down here in San Diego. Martin, I will miss you, and we just lost Mr. Levin. It sure makes me feel the older we get the more life is so precious. Rest in peace Martin!
