A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette for Philip Huron Caubarreaux, 84, who passed away Saturday, June 20, 2015 at his residence in Lafayette. Visitation will be observed on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 from 9:00 am until the time of services, at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette. A rosary will be recited Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at 10:00 am at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette. Interment will follow in Fountain Memorial Cemetery in Lafayette. Father Gary Schexnayder, Pastor of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Lafayette, will officiate. Philip was born February 20, 1931 in Bordelonville, LA and was a long-time resident of Acadiana. A proud veteran, he served as a Staff Sergeant and Crew Chief for the B-29 and B-47, in the United States Air Force. Philip worked as a Maintenance Engineer in the Dairy Industry for Borden's for 37 years. He was a parishioner of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Lafayette. Philip was active in his community and belonged to the ARRL, American Radio Relay League. His call sign was KB5EKD. Philip's creative spirit led him to invent a power supply in an empty paint can, entitled "CAN-DO", which was published in the QST Magazine. He was self-taught and loved tinkering and building wood and metal work, such as desks, bed frames, play houses and even a radio made out of an empty peanut butter jar. Philip invented processing equipment for Borden's. Most of all, Philip loved spending time with his family and friends. Philip is survived by two sons, Michael Dale Caubarreaux and his wife, Patricia of Lyons, CO and Mark Patrick Caubarreaux and his wife, Debbie of Rayne, LA; one daughter, Regina Caubarreaux and her spouse, Thomas Bagley of Tacoma, WA; one sister, Anita Goulas of Marksville, LA; five grandchildren, Christopher Caubarreaux and his wife, Cindy of Franklin, TX, Jennifer Caubarreaux and her spouse, Christine Saucedo of San Antonio, TX, Harrison Caubarreaux of Denver, CO, Justin Caubarreaux and his wife, Melinda of Lafayette, Ross Caubarreaux and his wife, Morgan of Denver, CO; three great-grandchildren, Kylie Caubarreaux of Franklin, TX, Haley Caubarreaux of Franklin, TX and Dax Philip Caubarreaux of Lafayette, LA and numerous dear nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Fredna Mary Dubroc Caubarreaux and his parents, Aaron Theodore Caubarreaux and Ada Agnes Marcotte Caubarreaux. The family wishes to thank Dr. Michael Cain and his nurse practitioner, Allison Bertrand for the compassionate care given to Philip and his family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Philip's name to the American Diabetes Association, P.O.
