Leonard A. Erickson

Born: Sept. 16, 1923

Died: June 25, 2015

Leonard A. Erickson, passed away peacefully at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home, Thursday, June 25, 2015. Age 91 years.

Survived by his wife of 71 years Gertrude L. Erickson (nee Hoefer). A son, Laurence Alan (Joy Lynn Schiek) Erickson; and a daughter, Teryl L. (Richard) Rettberg. Six grandchildren, Adam (Amy) Rettberg, Elsa (Brad) Gould, Leah (Jonathan) Allred, Amanda (Brad) Boyd, Martha Erickson and Rylan (Krysten) Erickson. Numerous great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents, Axel L. and Helen M. (nee Adams) Erickson.

Leonard was born September 16, 1923, in Joliet. Graduate of Joliet Township High School class of 1941 and the Waldon Business School in Chicago. He retired from Argonne National Laboratory as an accountant in 1984. Veteran of W.W. II serving with the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theatre. Member of Grace United Methodist Church and former member of Richards Street United Methodist Church. Member of the Elks Lodge #296. Leonard enjoyed fishing and sports.

Private interment will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at a later date.
