I am so sorry to hear of Alley Pat's passing.
I just found out last night.
Sending love and condolences to his family .
I got to know him from a business that he owned in the 70's.
I also remember hearing him on the radio when I was a young girl.
He was very funny , but very smart.
May you Rest In Peace Alley Pat.

I Love listening to Alley Pat with my dad, he would do an advertisement like no one I know and he would get on the business person if they didn't treat there customer right. My all time favorite is Alley Pat and Hosea Williams talk about the reason Pat hair was gray, Pat drinks alcohol and Pat would tell Hosea, your hair would be gray if he didn't use Mr and Mrs Clairol. LOL

I knew him very well from his favorite foods to how he liked his clothes ironed. He very muched loved his pet dogs. He had 4 dogs that lived there in his nice home on M L King dr.with him. I didnt know he had passed until tonight. I could go on for hours with stories about Mr.Pat. I am saddened. Old Atlanta is almost in our rear view mirror, men like Mr. Patrick and Hosea Williams really cared about Black Atlanta. I am proud of the work he put in for the betterment of this city. I was born at Holy Family Hospital in Southwest Atlanta, Alley Pat would say "Your family thought they were uppity" the rest of us was born at Grady. As a Firefighter here in Atlanta I would see him driving through the West End waving at us as we served the citizens. He would say keep up the good work and please save me if my house catch fire. He was funny and a icon that will never be replaced. Chief James Day grew up with the Patrick family and would share fun memories with us young firefighters. It made me feel honored to have been in the presence of greatness. Rest in peace Sir, you will truly be missed.

I listened to Alley Pat on WYZE each weekday afternoon for years as I drove from west to east on I-20, a long drive that never bothered me because of his humor and his observations about so many aspects of modern life. Later on I never missed the TV show. Mr. Patrick is a very important figure in my world. David Winter

Praying for the Family. I met Alley Pat through my husband many many years ago. My Husband, Son and I have Fond Memories of Him. When my Son was a baby he referred to Alley Pat as A Giant! His colorful humor and wit kept us laughing. He was a Giant among men.. And I bet he's got The Angels rolling in laughter. Rest In Heaven, Alley Pat, Rest In Heaven!

Atlanta has lost a true icon. Alley Pat, you always had your finger on the pulse of the city and kept us informed about what was happening on "Alley Pat's Place," which we watched regularly. Your appearances on Hosea's show were always entertaining and informative too. The two of you are together once again. Rest in peace. Condolences to your family and may they find comfort in all the warm memories of all the contributions you made to family, friends, the city of Atlanta, and to the entire South. To Janice, Tyrone, and the Patrick Family,
I was so sorry to hear that my friend and the man I call my surrogate father James Alley Pat Patrick had passed just the other day. I like the rest of the family am deeply hurt and grieving in the passing of such extraordinaire man. It was your father who gave me my first radio job in Atlanta back in the early 70's when he hired me out of New York City to work for WERD AM then later WXAP AM. It was your father and your brother the late Tony the Tiger Patrick who met me at Hartsfield Airport and put me up in Pascale's hotel. It was your dad that put me on the air later at WYZE AM and WQXI AM he was always looking out for me and my family. When I didn't have transportation he took me to B.B. Beamon's car lot and gave me the money to purchase a car. He even came by my house to give my wife a lesson on how to scrape corn off the cob. He was truly a great man who had compassion for the people who were the under dogs of society who were trying to make it in life. He not only had the gift for radio and TV he was truly a man you could always depend on in your time of need. It was because of your father friendship of over 40 years and his mentoring and guidance that has enable me to have a wonderful career in radio and TV for the past 45 years.
In your hour of bereavement I just wanted express my love to you and the family for your father grace and his many acts of kindness for me and my family down through the years.
May God keep you and the family embraced with love.

My dear friend Alley Pat, whom I called "Pat Man", will be greatly missed. I would always assist him when he came to renew his vehicle registration or pay his property taxes. We had very enlightening conversations and laughed forever it seemed. He would always give my sons a turkey & a Christmas tree every year until they got to the age and no longer wanted a Christmastree, but he continued to give them the turkey. He came to hear me preach and gave me very encouraging words.I know, he lived a wonderful life. I have many great memories of my friend. To God Be The Glory. I'm glad our paths crossed and I shall never forget him. To the family, may you find comfort in God, family, friends and all who loved him and the impact and legacy he leaves."A Great Man Gone, but Not Forgotten. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Patrick twice, once after winning at his Bingo game. In person he was exactly like he was on the radio. He would have made a great mayor because he told it the way it was. No BS. I was lucky enough to tape a couple of his shows and I still laugh at them. He was one of a kind and will be sorely missed. I always laugh when I recall his stories about the Denver Dragon and his interviews with the weatherman, Mr. Red Neck. Thanks Mr. Patrick for the great memories. RIP
