Jasper and Adeline Nelson, she was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ed Bellah, (Sisters) Audie Little, Bertie Sanders, Dorothy Rose Pierce, Freddie (Ted) Tyer, Bernice Drummond and Eddis Raye Summers; (Brothers) Floyd Nelson, Forrest Nelson and Willard Nelson. Claudia is survived by her brother, Lloyd P. Nelson of Houston in addition to many nieces and nephews who loved her and engaged with her over lifetime.
Claudia’s life was a grand backdrop of engaged work, travel and education. She lived and worked in the Pacific Islands after WWII and later in Houston and Dallas as an administrative assistant. She spent the last 13 years of her workplace career teaching in the South Park Independent School District.
For 18 years she was the church pianist and taught a Bible Class at Templo Bautista in Beaumont, TX. She traveled for a number of years, visiting the Middle East, Europe and the UK. She took great pleasure in her home, her flower gardens, fig trees and living near her sister, Bertie Sanders.
Claudia was confident and intense in her conversation, content in her singleness, trusting Jesus for her provision and very reflective on her life and relationships. One of her most notable statements was “it will all unfold”, which made little room for stress in her life.
