Carol Bryndel Obituary

Carol I. Pennington Bryndel, 77, of 101 N. Mill St., Ridgway, formerly of Johnsonburg, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, July 12, 2015 at Penn Highlands DuBois following a brief illness.
She was born Feb. 7, 1938 in Johnsonburg, daughter of the late Percy and Pearl Nortum Pennington.
Formerly of Johnsonburg, she resided in Ridgway for the past 30 years.
She graduated from Johnsonburg High School in 1957 where she was a drum major/majorette. She was a member of the Johnsonburg United Methodist Church and the Ridgway Moose Club. She was also a former member of the Red Rockets Drum and Bugle Corps. She enjoyed playing cards, board games and spending time with her kids and grandkids.
She was employed by the Ridgway Moose Club for 30 years. She had previously been employed by the A&P Store in Johnsonburg.
She is survived by three daughters, Beth Cherry-Amacher and George of Ridgway, Karolee Cherry-Crotzer and her partner Vinnie Gnan of Johnsonburg, and Kimberly Cherry and her husband Bill Beck of St. Marys; one son, James Cherry of Wilcox; and 18 grandchildren, Joshua Amacher Sr., Benjamin Amacher Sr., Christie Amacher-Gardner, Ashley Amacher-Gardner, Lindsay Amacher-Marzella, Kylee Amacher, Austin Amacher, Brandon Cherry, Ryan Crotzer, Nicole Crotzer-Rivera, Tonya Geer-Gustafson, Amanda Cavalline, William Beck, Jimmy Cherry, Justin Cherry, Julianne Cherry, Jocelyn Cherry and Jacob Cherry. Twenty-nine great-grandchildren that she loved very much also survive. She is also survived by two sisters, Edith Pennington-Carr and her husband John of South Carolina, and Nancy Pennington-Snyder of Johnsonburg; one brother, James Pennington and his wife Ruth of Johnsonburg; and by her good friend and helper, Eric King.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved son, Billy Cherry; brothers Tom, Bill, and Norman "Sonny" Pennington; and a sister, Peggy Pennington Eisenhower.
A Funeral Service for Carol I. Pennington Bryndel will be conducted at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut St., Johnsonburg on Thursday, July 16 at 11 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Brian Vossler, pastor of St. Leo Magnus Church, Ridgway.
Interment will be in Wardvale Methodist Cemetery, Johnsonburg.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
