Rosie Montoya, a longtime resident of Lodi, passed away at the age of 74 on July 8, 2015. Rosie was born in Madera, California on October 19, 1940.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and being with her family and grandchildren.
Rosie is survived by her mother, Anna Vitela; children, Roseanna Ahr, Paul Montoya, Cindy Ledesma, Juanita Herrera, Della Montoya, Sonya Montoya and Michael Herrera; sisters and brothers, Lupe Goodman, Alfonso Vitela, Molly Gonzales, Victor Vitela; 50 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Rojas; brothers, Salvador Verduzco, Jesus Vitela; and grandsons, Johnny Lara, Raymond Lara, and Albert Lara.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 20, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home. There is no visitation, and committal will be private. A guest book may be signed at www.lodifuneralhome.com where memories can be shared.

Grandma Rosie, I miss you so much. My heart is so shattered . I miss your laughter your smile. You are the BEST GRANDMA EVER. I thank GOD that he BLESSED ME TO HAVE YOU IN MY LIFE FOR 40YEARS. You are truly missed and loved so very much. And we ALL know that I am your favorite.I wish I could just see you again now here on earth. All the Times you would pick me up from school when you would take me and bubba to thriftys for ice cream and Woolworths. I miss your grey eyes your beautiful hair. Mom I luv nd miss u so much there is not a word that can describe my missing u.. U are the BEST MOTHER EVER I LUV u so much!!!I miss our visits together yard selling ur cooking home made tortillas refried beans my best friend my mother my life!!! My mother rose it hurts so bad u not being here any more but I made promises to u that I will keep so I will go on and make the best of my life and for my kids and grandkids I just wish that they all got a chance to no there beautiful granny!! U truly are the best in everything u do and who u r... U were always there to help everyone. People u didn't even no u helped u touched so many life's even stranger's we all loved and still LUV u and will always remember u!! U left a ever lasting impression on so many life's!! MOM I MISS!!!!
