John F. Nicotra died on July 19, 2015. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on Aug 28, 1918 and moved to Boca Raton, FL in 1982 from Ozone Park, NY. He worked for the Tribourgh Bridge and Tunnel Authority and loved the NY Mets and fishing, good Italian food, and most of all, his family and friends. John lived his life to the fullest and those who knew him loved him dearly. He is survived by his daughters, Carolyn Nicotra and Angela Shoemaker (her husband, Robert); his adoring grandchildren, Lisa Policastro (her husband, Steve), Cara Brutvan (her husband, Thomas), Jena Policastro (her husband, Steve), Bobby Shoemaker (his wife, Rachael), Denise White (her husband, Michael), and Jeanine Thorsen (her husband, Eric); and beloved great-grandchildren, Dylan, Thomas John, Joslyn, Kyle, Conner, Ashleigh, Bryce, and Aiden. Grandpa saw it all with 97 years of life experiences under his belt.Through these years he continued to remain himself and always amaze us! Life is a gift from God as is family which he believed in. We know he will always be smiling down on us just as he did here on Earth.
