Charles as I look back to our childhood, it is difficult for me to see how two people could have been closer than we were. Our paths diverged and all of that was lost, except for the memories. Being around your children, seeing how they interact with each other, I realized how much they are like the way you and I were as kids. You did a great job as Dad. Having those children, you were blessed as a Dad. They were also blessed having you for a Dad. I realize now how blessed I was having you as a Brother.

When I think of Charles, all I can think of is that warming smile he had. I know that heart felt smile came from the love he had for his family. Although I did not know Charles on a personal level, I do know the love he had for his family was like no other. He would want you to live your life to the fullest, embrace every moment you have with one another, and allow this loss to bring you closer than ever as a family. When you look up at the sky in remembrance of him, let your happy tears flow from the good memories you have made with him. As long as you carry him in your heart, he will always be with you to share your achievements, success, and life experiences. All of you are in my thoughts and prayers
Rest Peacefully Charles

Missing you Dad.
God saw you getting tired, A cure was not to be. So he put his arms around you, and whispered, "Come with me." With tearful eyes we watched you suffer and saw you fade away. Although we loved you dearly, We could not beg you to stay. A golden heart stopped beating a busy life now mild. It touched our hearts and proved to us, God always takes his child. The angels led you safely home, But you left some things behind; Memories tucked in my heart, Those of a special kind. Memories of the love you gave, the happy times we shared. Memories of a special dad, who always showed he cared. I will miss my dad very much, but the one thing that helps me through all of this, is I know, that I know I will see you again. I may not have talked to my dad each day, but he knew that I loved him. He is no longer suffering. Jesus wrapped him in his arms and took him softly away. I Love you daddy, and will see you again someday. (Even though to you it will seem like one day).

This is a difficult time for us. He was or should I say is a good man! The reason why I said he is still a good man is because he touched so many lives that U can and will still see his influence for years to come. We met and later he became my father-in-law, but left as my father.

What a special person! Charles was always fun to be around, and his smile was contagious. He was up for anything: a flea market, an auction, a ride on a 4-wheeler, a ride around Chestnut Knob Road, a good meal, a reunion, silly pictures, or just sitting around talking. He even went to a casino with us wearing a ball cap that said, "Man of Faith." I am so glad I got to call this man my uncle.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
