George Richard Ward departed this life on Sunday, July 19, 2015, at the age of 72. Son of Ozzie Lee Rushing and the late Wren Ward Sr. He was united in marriage to Jessie Marie Ray. George had 3 sisters, Doris (Curtis) Williams, Hazel Denise White, and Donna Faye White. 8 brothers, Willie Charles Ward, Larry Ward, Dewayne Osgood, Christopher Osgood, the late Bobby Joe (Diane) Ward, Luther Trimm, Wren Ward Jr., and Rickey Ward. Father of Sharon (Charles) Ward-Harvey, Mary Ward, Wanda Ward, Katherine Honeycutt and Ozzie Andrea' Ward. Grandfather of Chuncy Ward, Richard Spikes Jr., Dominique Nicole Smith, Schantalyn Ariell Joseph, Stephen Anthony Joseph, John Kennedy Cooper II and Jamar Ryan Smith Jr. Also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He worked for over 30 plus years at National Polyfab Inc and retired after Hurricane Katrina. Friends and family are invited to attend a funeral service at Second Morning Star M.B.C., 2616 Saint Andrew St., New Orleans, LA 70113, on Saturday, July 25, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Internment at Providence Memorial Park, 8200 Airline Dr, Metairie, La 70003. George will be missed by all who knew him especially all of his class mates we are all praying for the family,the phone calls have now stopped, but the memories will live on.
