Wayne F. Wilkes, Sr., 81, of Panama City, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at his home.
Wayne was born in Thomasville, GA, and lived most of his life in Panama City. He worked for RC Cola and Borden Dairy before joining the Coca Cola Company, where he worked 32 years in sales and service. Wayne was a member of the Hiland Park Baptist Church, and enjoyed fishing, yardwork, and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Willie Parker Wilkes of Panama City; his children, Peggy Gilbert and husband Richard of Chipley, Debbie Christmas and husband Hubert "Chris" of Panama City and Wayne Wilkes, Jr. and wife Pam of Panama City; a brother, Gene Wilkes and wife Lois of Cocoa Beach; his grandchildren, Tanner Gilbert, Kacy and Jimmy Frimmel, Blake and Lindsay Christmas, Nick Christmas and Derrick and Kaytlyn Wilkes; his great-grandchildren, Katie, Blaine, Kash, Kyry and Kynly; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, July 27, 2015, at the Garden of Memories Cemetery with the Rev. Richard D. Foster officiating. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
