Benjamin (Ben) John Kauffman 89, passed away with family by his side on July 22, 2015. Ben was born April 1st, 1926 to Conrad and Katherine (Ginther) Kauffman in Greeley Colorado. He grew up and worked with family in Northern Colorado until 1944. He served in the Army where he was in the infantry and fought in the battle of Okinawa in 1945. He received a Purple Heart for injuries during battle. When he returned from the war he began working for Garrett Motors in Loveland and retired after 32 years. Then he started his own lawn mower repair business "Bens Small Engine Repair" until 1996. Ben married Doris Marshall on Nov, 24 1962. Throughout his life Ben enjoyed being with family, polka dancing, camping, fishing, yard work, fixing things and playing poker. He is survived by his wife Doris Kauffman, and his children, Tammie King (Jerry), Carol Kauffman, Terry Marshall (Debbie), and Glenna Massey (Arlan). Ben had 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Sandy Kauffman, brother Jake Kauffman, sisters, Lydia Mohrlang, Marian Becker, and Betty Mazzotti. A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 11:00 am on July 27, 2015 at First Christian Church, 2000 North Lincoln Avenue. A reception will follow at the church. Inurnment, with full military honors, will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens following the reception. Memorial contributions can be made to Pathways Hospice or the Associated Veterans of Loveland in care of Resthaven Funeral Home, 8426 S. Hwy 287, Fort Collins, CO 80525.

Carol, do sorry to hear about your sister, and now your father. I think about you often and our friendship. Your dad, whom I never knew sounds like he was a wonderful dad. Terry, so sorry you lost your mother's husband. Doris, my condolences.

So sorry to hear of your loss, I remember Ben from when we were young Tammy, back when we thought our parents would be around forever. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
