Barbara A. Dietrich SCHUYLERVILLE - Barbara A. Dietrich, 79, a resident of North Broad St., passed away Friday, July 3, 2015 at Saratoga Hospital. Born February 17, 1936 in Margaretville, NY she was the daughter of the late Harold and Leona Gavette Scott. Mrs. Dietrich was a graduate of Margaretville Central School where she had been a cheerleader, editor of the school newspaper, member of the drama club and band. She later graduated from Delhi State College with a business degree. She had been a volunteer for many years with the American Cancer Society and the Red Cross. She enjoyed refinishing furniture, downhill skiing, kayaking, baking, playing the piano and researching her Scottish ancestors. She loved nature and animals. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Edward G. Dietrich in 2014. Survivors include her daughter, Cynthia (Wayne) Wanser of Milton, VT; 2 grandchildren, Chiara and Michael Wanser; 1 niece, Paula Durim; 1 nephew, Jim Dobsa; and her beloved cats, Momma Kitty and Ivy. A graveside service will be held at 1pm Saturday, August 22, 2015 in the Prospect Hill Cemetery with Rev. Virginia Cornell, officiating. Memorials can be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 1 Penny Lane, Latham, NY 12110 or any animal shelter of your choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Flynn Bros. Inc.
