1928 - 2015 Yvonne Kirby Thompson Yates, 87, of Beaumont, passed away on Wednesday July 29, 2015 in Port Arthur. Yvonne was born on June 5, 1928 in Beaumont, Texas to her parents Jarrotte and Marie Seymore Kirby who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband Donald K. Yates, three sons Ted K., Michael O., James B. Thompson, and one sister. Mrs. Yates was a homemaker who enjoyed reading and swimming. She was a graduate of the Class of 1945 from Beaumont High School. Surviving Yvonne are her two sons, Jerry Thompson of Nederland and Chuck Thompson of Pt. Neches, five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Saturday August 1, 2015 from 9:00A.M. until service time of 10:00A.M. at the Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont. Memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity of cancer research in Mrs. Yate's honor.

Grandmother Yvonne was a wonderful lady that thought of everyone and always went out of her way to take care of the ones in her life. I will truly miss her.
