Richard Hannon Obituary

HANNON Richard Carl Hannon of Jacksonville passed away July 16, 2015 at Orange Park Medical Center. He was born to Celia and John Hannon on October 8, 1956. Rick a US Navy Master Chief (ret.) was and exceptional man, son, husband, father, papa, friend and employee while stationed on this earth. His strength and courage were remarkable and most people he met had a deep respect for his personal and professional conduct. Rick is survived by his wife Kathy, daughter and son, Betsy and Jacob Bander, Grands, Chloe, Cambria and Phoenix, sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Chris Keller; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends too numerous to print. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to a charity of your choice. A mass will be celebrated at noon at August 3,2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 5752 Blanding Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32244, followed by inurnment with full military honors at Jacksonville National Cemetery at 2:30 on August 3, 2015. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hardage Giddens 5753 Blanding Blvd. Jax Fl 32244. GO STEELERS!

RC , Ben Grospe & I made Chief together when we stationed @ NAS Cecil Field with VFA-132 . What an exciting day for all 3 of us , and what exciting days were ahead of us as new Chief Petty Officers. I was stationed with Richard at AIMD Cecil Field Jet Shop in 1985. He was a First Class Petty Officer and I was a Second Class. Our paths crossed again later in our careers as well. I first met Rick "RC" at AIMD Cecil Field and the meeting lead to a 30+ year friendship that I will treasure forever, like many, many others RC taught me many things from Auto Mechanics to Carpentry to essentials needed in daily life I will miss my friend but know in my Heart that I will see him again in heaven!
