CLARA VIRGINIA BLASTICK (NEE GRABOWSKI) MUNSTER, IN It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our mother, grandmother, godmother, aunt, and friend: Clara Virginia Blastick, age 87, of Munster, IN, formerly of Whiting, IN, after a long battle against Alzheimers. She was the daughter of Blaze and Regina (Dybel) Grabowski and last surviving sister to Mary (Quisenberry), Angeline, Bertha (Cisarik), Joan (Cunningham), Eleanor (Mlynarcik), Elsie (Tomera), Joseph, John, Stanley, and Frank. The beloved wife of the late Donald Blastick, loving mother of Lynn of Munster, Mary of Demotte, and Scott of Highland; cherished grandmother of Celeste (Richard) Zaleski of Hobart and Whitney Lindley of Highland; the godmother to Donna (Tomera) Dunne and Christine (Zuvich) Surufka. She is also survived by sisters-in-law: Florence (Harry) Zuvich and Lillian (Richard) Blastick, and many nieces and nephews. Clara attended Whiting High School and worked in the Lake County Auditor and Treasurer's office in Crown Point. She was an avid bowler at Towne House Lanes, Munster Lanes, and Stardust III; a member of St. Thomas More Church, and a Saturday evening greeter. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels. Her greatest pastime was traveling with family and friends. A visitation with the family will be held on Thursday August 6, 2015 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas More Church, 8501 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN with a Mass following at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Mike Yadron officiating. Special thanks to Melinda "Mo" Goodson and Melissa Dapshis for their special care they gave to our mom. Thank you to Hospice of the Calumet Area for their amazing work. These ladies are angels of God. Again, thank you. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hospice of the Calumet Area in her loving memory. Dear Lynn and Family,
My sincere condolences on the loss of your mother. It is never easy to lose a parent, but knowing she is restored to her perfection can bring comfort and peace to you now left behind.
As my mother too suffered many years from Alzheimer's before her death last August, I have walked in your shoes. My prayers are with you now and in the future.
Blessings,
Elaine Engle Bielefeld
