MARY LOU GAMBINO CALUMET CITY, IL Mary Lou Gambino (nee Schoettle), age 73 of Calumet City, IL, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2015. She is survived by her husband, Thomas J. Gambino. They celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on April 28, 2015. Also surviving are her three children: Dominica (Lane) Eilers, Julius (Tracie) Gambino, and Victoria Gambino; three grandchildren: Jacob Eilers, Thomas Gambino, and Nicholas Gambino; and two brothers: Julius (Pat) Schoettle and Kurt (Toni) Schoettle; many nieces and nephews and extended family in Germany. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents: Julius and Josephine Schoettle. Friends are invited to visit with Mary Lou's family on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 from 3:00 - 8:00 PM at the Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Rd., Lansing, IL. There will be a brief Prayer Service at 4:00 PM and all are invited to attend. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 13 beginning with Prayers at 9:30 AM at the funeral home and processing to St. Ann Catholic Church, 3010 Ridge Rd., Lansing, IL for a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Calumet City, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Mary Lou's family would be appreciated. Mary Lou was a member of the Daughters of Isabella Lansing Circle 896 and served as current and past Reagent. She had also been a member of the Munster CRC Coffee Break, enjoyed knitting and crocheting and would makes hats for newborns and donate them to nurseries in local hospitals. She also enjoyed ceramics and card games. She adored her grandchildren and will be dearly missed by her family and many friends. www.schroederlauer.com
