ESTHER C. DICKMAN, 92 FREEPORT - Esther C. Dickman, 92, of Freeport, died Saturday, August 8, 2015, in her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 30, 1922, in Pearl City, IL, the daughter of John and Erma (Wenger) Heilman She married William Dickman, Sr. July 7, 1945, in Freeport, IL; he died March 9, 2012. Esther and her husband were employed in Agri-business all their life. Along with their family, they owned and operated a Hatchery-Poultry farm, and were engaged in a truck farming and egg distribution business, which later became Dickman Farm Service Inc. She attended Zion Church in Freeport. She enjoyed bowling, quilting, embroidering, and fishing. Family was a very important part of her life. Esther is survived by three sons, Bill (Mary) Dickman, Jr. of Cedarville, IL, Larry (Karen) Dickman of Freeport, IL, and Lowell (Jeanne) Dickman of Freeport, IL; three daughters, Kathy Carrell of Freeport, IL, Paula (Larry) Nieman of Ridott, IL, and Laurie (Kurt) Keith of Freeport, IL; her sister, Ruby Bartlett of Freeport, IL; 16 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers, and two sisters. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at Zion Church, 4292 W. Stephenson St. Rd., Freeport, IL, with Rev. Gardy Kronk officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Zion Church, and from 9 a.m. Wednesday until the time of service. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the St. Jude Foundation and Pretzel City Transit.
