O'Connell, Kathleen V. (Moran) 81, of Chelmsford, formerly of Lowell, passed away Aug. 11 in Lowell. Beloved wife of William L. O'Connell. Born in Lowell June 26, 1934, daughter of the late James E. and Mary F. (Dockett) Moran. Kay worked at the Courier Citizen and Raytheon Corp in Lowell, Bedford and Lexington. Kay is also survived by her sister Dorothy (Moran) Toth of Kennebunk, ME and sister-in-law Janice M. Kelly of Juno Beach, FL and her devoted lifelong friend Patricia (O'Neill) Bedell of Melrose. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. Kay was predeceased by her siblings Patricia M. (Moran) Waterworth, James E. Moran Jr. and William F. Moran. Visiting hours Fri. 4 to 7 pm at the Blake Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St. CHELMSFORD. Funeral Mass Sat. at 9 am at St. Mary Parish, 25 North Rd. Chelmsford followed by interment in St. Patrick Cemetery, Lowell. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P O Box 1000 Dept 142, Memphis, TN 38148. Very sorry to learn of Kay's passing. She was a lovely person and fondly remembered by both of us from the Raytheon, Bedford days. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.
