Janet E. (Clegg) Clark
Devoted Mother
LOWELL -- Janet E. (Clegg) Clark, a lifelong resident of the Highlands neighborhood of Lowell, died August 16, 2015 in Westford after a period of declining health, aged 81 years. Born In Lowell on February 11, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Inez (Crawford) Clegg.
She worked at St. John's Hospital of Lowell as a Matron for several years and then at GE (formerly RCA) of Burlington as an assembler until her retirement. Janet was very proud of her work at GE especially on the defense equipment for Desert Storm.
Janet was a loving, devoted mother to her three children. She was a proud, hard working woman who will always be remembered for her kindness and sense of humor.
The family would like to thank the staff at Westford House for their exceptional, dedicated, and compassionate care they gave Janet during her stay.
She is survived by a son, Steven Clark and his wife Nancy of Hudson, NH, two daughters, Karen Clark and her husband Mike Durkin of Chelmsford, and Linda Bellavance of Fort Smith, AR; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, one sister Judith Brule of Nashua, NH and a brother, Brian Clegg and his wife Maura of Hudson, NH.
She was the twin sister of the late Robert "Barry" Clegg, brother Robert Baker and brother-in-law Normand Brule.
CLARK -- Visiting hours on Thursday from 10 am to 12 pm at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD followed by her Funeral Service in the funeral home at 12 o'clock. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Westford House, 3 Park Drive, Westford, MA 01886. Funeral Director Paul A. I was proud to call her 'Ma' because that's how close she made me feel from my teen years through my fifties. What a wonderful personality. She will certainly live on in my heart.
