I write this on behalf of Katie's classmates at Douglass College, '59, sending our deepest condolences to her family and friends. We recall Katie's vibrant smile, her enthusiasm and energy, and her joy in living. It seems that she continued this energy throughout her life, to th benefit of many others. I apologize for the delay in responding to this news, but we have just been informed of Katie's passing. I hope that this message is communicated to her family. Lois R. Steinberg, President of the Douglass College Class of 1959.

I grew up on Markham and connected with Katie years later working on a project together at Greater Pittsburgh International Airport. She was soft spoken and well respected. She loved to talk about her family and politics. She had a beautiful smile and kind heart. Please accept our most sincere sympathies on your loss.
