Margaret Lawrence Couvillon, age 99, passed away on Sunday, August 23. Beloved wife of the late Milton C. Couvillon, Jr. Loving mother of Milton C. Couvillon, III (Karen), Lawrence G. Couvillon (Charlene) and Karen Couvillon Scariano (David). Proud grandmother of Cheryl Kuchka, Kerry Couvillon, Jenny Thomas, Christie Couvillon, Marc Couvillon and Katie Couvillon. Great-grandmother of Samantha Couvillon, Grant Thomas, Sofia Couvillon and Isaac Couvillon. Daughter of the late Beulah Green and George Lawrence. Sister of Naomi Batte, Lloyd Lawrence and the late Ruth Helmker, Gladys Rogers, George Lawrence, David Lawrence and Beverly Melancon. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by all who loved her. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Boulevard, Metairie on Thursday, August 27 at 1:00 pm. Visitation will be held prior to the service starting at 11:00 am. Condolences may be offered at www.leitzeaganfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Our Lady of Wisdom Healthcare Center, 5600 General DeGaulle Drive, New Orleans, LA 70131.

My Grandmother lived a life of giving to others. She was a wonderful example of God's Love and compassion. I thank God that her life had meaning. I am praying for the family as I know she will be missed. God bless you all!

I enjoyed being Margaret's neighbor at Ville St. Marie so much. I looked forward to seeing her each day and have missed her since she moved away. She was a wonderful friend and David was a wonderful son-in-law.
