To Joy and Family,
I was very sadden to hear of Kelly's passing. It was only a little while ago we shared laughs and enjoyment at the monthly Jazz night at symphony hall. It did not matter the length of time in seeing Kelly, I always found him gracious with his time and having the ability to make you feel welcome. The thought that he won't be around is hard to consider but I know that pales in comparison to what you are going through. Words can never say enough or do enough at this sorrowful moment to take away all the pain but please understand the wonderfulness that Kelly brought is a gift forever. I am so glad to have known him and wish all of you blessings as you mourn this huge loss.

To Joy and the Reed Families,

I'm so sorry for your loss, you have my deepest sympathy. Kelly was a good friend of mine. We were neighbors growing up in Delaware Terrace Projects. I use to live at 132 A east Lincoln street. Kelly use to live at 132 D east Lincoln Street. I will always remember Kelly for his smile, he always had a warm, radiant smile. If I was having a bad day, and I would see Kelly, he would brighten up my day. He was very nice person with a great personality, loving and kindness. To all of his family members, when ever you start feeling sad or blue, keep the good times you shared with Kelly alive. He will always be by your side, also thank God for the many years you have shared with Kelly.I'm praying God will comfort you and strengthen your family through these difficult times. He is gone but never forgotten and we'll see him again at the cross roads. R.I.P Kelly until we meet again take care and God bless everyone!

To Joy and the entire Reed family: Kelly was a True Man's Man! His contributions to the Lehigh Valley Business and Non-profit communities were tremendous. I first met and worked with Kelly when he was the President of the Obsidian Organization back in the late 80's to early 90's. The work that Kelly did in organizing the Annual Black Family Forum at Lehigh University and other events was remarkable. Please accept my sympathies and condolences. May God be with you during this tough period.

Dear Reed Family:
I have fond memories of the early days of Obsidian of which Kelly was a founding member. I believe he met is lovely wife Joy through this organization. Although it has been a long time since I last saw Kelly, my wife Tammy and I would often think of Kelly`s "warm mannerisms". There is a time to laugh and a time to mourn. In your season of sorrow, the DeShields Family mourns with you.

Sorrowfully,
The DeShields Family.
