Kaplan Frances "Franny" Kaplan passed away very peacefully in the early morning hours of October 1, 2015. Survived by sons, Michael Box and Terry Box; her four grandchildren, Natalie and Brendan (Michael) and Spencer and Cameron (Terry). She will also be missed dearly by her two favorite daughters-in-law, Sandy (Michael) and Gayle Sheahan (Terry). She was preceded in death by her brother Lou Kaplan, sister Miriam Clebone, both born in Lithuania, and recently her younger sister Edith Kaufman. Franny and Edith were the first people in her family born in America. Franny was the last Kaplan to pass from her generation. She was a graduate of Elyria High School and attended The Ohio State University. She recently attended her 55th High School reunion. Franny always found the time to help her grandchildren, attend their sporting events and recitals. Franny was a wonderful Mom. Both her boys were extremely active in sports and school events. She would cart her boys to games, events and social activities and many times would volunteer as a chaperon. Her house was a meeting place for many of her son's school projects; her garage was where more than one float was built. She would always bring out snacks and drinks for the busy kids working on the projects. Over the years Franny gave her time and energy to a multitude of charities. Some of her favorites were the Crones and Colitis Foundation, March of Dimes, Columbus Symphony and the Columbus Arts Foundation. There will be an open house on Sunday, October 18th from 2-5 p.m. at 5586 Turnberry Drive, Westerville, Ohio 43082 to celebrate her wonderful long life. We ask that all her friends and family join us in that celebration. She will be missed by all who knew her. Arrangements by RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High St., Worthington, OH 43085. Miss Fran taught me about professionalism in business back in the mid80s at Accountemps. I appreciate the advice but still didn't cut my hair. RIP Fran.
