MORRIS, Frances (Parker, nee Singard)
Peacefully at Rosewood Retirement Residence in Kingston, on November 2, 2015 in her 98th year. Survived by her daughter, Diane Parker and son- in-law Larry Fine, sister Rose Yuke, nieces, nephews, and relatives in England. Predeceased by parents Frank and Rosina Singard, loving husband Ben Morris, siblings Raymond and Irene, and former husband Charlie Parker. Fran grew up in Carp and Pakenham, then went to Kingston to study nursing at Kingston General Hospital from where she graduated in 1940. Nursing was her lifelong passion and she had a varied career, including teaching in the RNA programme at St. Lawrence College. Fran was an avid letter writer and kept in touch with friends for many years. She will be remembered for her love of singing, joie de vivre, thoughtfulness, kindness, and upbeat and quirky personality, and her interest in travel, horses, and bridge. She was a people person and truly loved life. To her daughter she was the "world's best mom". The family will receive friends at the Robert J. Reid & Son's Funeral Home, "The Chapel on the Corner", 309 Johnson Street (at Barrie Street) on Monday, November 16th for a memorial service at 1:30 p.m., reception to follow. Interment at a later date.
