SANDRA STEINHAUER Sandra Miriam Steinhauer, age 78, of Las Vegas, passed away Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015. Sandra was born Dec. 1, 1936, in St. Louis, to the late Rueben and the late Betty (nee Pastel) Rifkin. She married her husband, Sheldon, in 1957 while he was in the U.S. Air Force, and they moved to California shortly after. She had a career in worker's compensation claims. Sandra was a gourmet cook who could elegantly host a party for 70 people. She also enjoyed playing mah jong, reading, travel and, mostly, spending quality time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Alan Rifkin. Sandra is survived by her husband, of 58 years, Sheldon Steinhauer; children, Lee (Bettina) Steinhauer, Alisa Steinhauer-Mandler and Dana (Mark) Fausner; grandchildren, Max Steinhauer, Ryan Steinhauer, Shane Fausner, Riley Fausner and LiLi Dong-Mandler; and sister, Beverly Gruber. Funeral service will be at 8 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV 89005. Donations in Sandra's memory may be made to The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society.
