Dates, Carl J.
Fair Haven: Carl J. Dates, 87, a resident of Blossom View Nursing Home, passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2015.
Private burial will be in Springbrook Cemetery, Sterling. A Memorial Service for family and friends will be held Saturday (Dec. 12) 11 am at Sterling United Methodist Church, State Route 104A in Sterling. Family will receive friends beginning at 10 am with a luncheon to follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Fair Haven Fire Department or to Sterling United Methodist Church in Carl's memory.
Carl was born December 27, 1927 in Red Creek, a son to the late Harlow and Ruby Mitchell Dates. As a life-time area resident, Carl owned and operated Daterra Farm in Red Creek. He was an active member of the Sterling Town Board and after retirement he worked for Wegmans Egg Farm for a number of years.
Predeceased by his wife, Ella Marie in 2012. Survived by 4 daughters, Cynthia (Richard) Rittinger of Sodus, Brenda Campen of Alaska, Carlene Lauducci of North Carolina and Amanda (Greg Beuthin) Dates of Paris; 3 sons, Bradford (Kitty) of Sterling, Christopher (Janine) of Tennessee and Bryce (Heidi) of Martville; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Barbara (Gordon) Youngman of Wolcott and Marian (Manny) Maniscalco of Auburn; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

To all the Dates family George & I extend our deepest sympathy to you all. Your dad was such a kind man and always had a big hug for me whenever I saw him over the years. Hoping he and Dad and Bill are having a good long talk and solving all the farming issues of the world! You are all in our thoughts and prayers.
