ADDISON - Percy D. "Red" Walters, age 91, of Addison passed away on Nov. 12, 2015, at MagnumCare of Adrian.
He was born on Aug. 27, 1924, in Grass Lake, Mich., to Percy and Ethel M. (Allen) Walters. He married Norma A. Day on June 15, 1949, in Indian River, Mich., and she preceded him in death on Nov. 14, 2012. Red lived all of his life in the Addison area. He graduated from Addison High School in 1942. He was co-owner of Matthews and Walters Builders in Addison. Red was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Navy.
Surviving are one son, Lance Walters, one granddaughter, Stacey L. Walters, and one great-grandson, Dylan Griezard, all of Ocala, Fla.; nieces; nephews; and cousins. Red was preceded in death by his wife, Norma; their son, Orrin; one brother; and two sisters.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, 2015, at the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Addison, with Pastor Wes Rowan officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. prior to the service on Friday. Private burial will take place in Lenawee Hills Memorial Park in Adrian.
