Mrs, Hendrix was such an elegant lady. I knew her through the First Methodist Church and when I rode to college with her oldest daughter Nancy. This freshman did not have a car and Nancy, being a sophisticated junior, did. May I be able to grace this earth as Mrs. Hendrix did.

Alice Carr was a friend to my husband and they had many conversations about music, literature and her grandson, William.
After his death, she and I continued to be in touch.
She was a lady, first and foremost.
Rest in peace, gentle lady of the south.
