Thomas J. Briskey Jr. Retired Navy commander, president of electric companies in New York City and Hoboken Thomas J. Briskey Jr., 89, of Point Pleasant Borough, N.J., died on Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015, at Ocean Medical Center in Brick, N.J. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday, Dec. 23, at 10 a.m., in Sacred Heart R.C. Church, Bay Head, N.J. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Lakewood, N.J. Viewing hours are Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Van Hise & Callagan Funeral Home, 812 Arnold Ave., Point Pleasant Beach, N.J. Tom was born in North Plainfield, N.J., and lived for many years in Westfield, N.J., and Scotch Plains, N.J., before moving to Point Pleasant 23 years ago. He was a marine electrical engineer who became president of Merrin Electric, New York City, and Jefferson Electric, Hoboken, N.J., for many years. Tom was a retired Navy commander and a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Bay Head. He graduated from St. Benedict's Prep in 1943, then went on to the Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, N.Y., where he graduated in 1946. His wife, Audrey, passed away in 2009, and Tom was also predeceased by his daughter, Audrey Claire Shive, and two grandchildren. Surviving are three children, Thomas J. and his wife, Donna, of Basking Ridge, N.J., Rose Marie and her husband, Bob Munch, of Mountainside, N.J., and Eileen and her husband, Bill Spack, of Arlington, Va. Tom is also survived by four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
