RIXFORD - Laura J. Bacha, 79, of Looker Mountain Trail, formerly of Duke Center, passed away Tuesday (Dec. 22, 2015) following a brief illness.
Born March 3, 1936, in Olean, N.Y., she was a daughter of Arthur and Flora Anna Burroughs Burrows. On March 8, 1953, in Rixford, she married Mark Bacha, who passed away Sept. 5, 2005.
Laura was a 1952 graduate of Eldred High School. She had resided in Duke Center for 37 years prior to moving back to Rixford in 2001.
She had been employed at Viko Furniture in Eldred, and was later employed at Zippo Manufacturing Co. in Bradford for 31 years, retiring in 1998. She had also worked, along with her husband, in Bacha's Grocery Store in Rixford for 12 years.
She enjoyed embroidery and doing jigsaw puzzles, cooking, gardening, and enjoyed outdoor picnics with her family.
Surviving are three sons, Ronald (Linda) Bacha of Bradford, Kerry (Becky) Bacha of Duke Center, and George Bacha of Rixford; five grandchildren, Holly (Chris) Common, Amy Jo (Carl) Stoltz, Amber Bacha, Kyle Bacha, Amy Lynn (Ray) Oneil and Barry (Sonja) Bacha; eight great-grandchildren, Erika Bacha, Ashley Stoltz, Maria Common, Andrew Bacha, Brandon Stoltz, Mark Common, Aden Common, Matthew Covert, Megan Covert and Bentlee Confer; a sister, Dorothy McClain of Eldred; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Alvin, LaVern and Paul Burrows; and six sisters, Marjorie Ryder, Grace VanHorn, Mable Dietz, Cordeila Snyder, Marguerite Chase and Marion Raszmann.
Friends may call at the Frame Funeral Home in Eldred on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at which time funeral services will be held with the Rev. Ricky Price officiating. Burial will follow in McKean Memorial Park, Lafayette.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Otto Township Volunteer Fire Department.
