QUINCY - Shirley Ann (Luse) Tait, 81, of Coldwater, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at the Community Health Center of Branch County. Born September 15, 1934, on the farm of her great-uncle in Algansee Township, she was the daughter of Chester Clair and Dorothy Mae (Gilbert) Luse.

Over the years Shirley had joined many clubs, but was currently a member of MARSP, which met bi-monthly with retired employees of Quality Springs and enjoyed attending the Burnside Senior Center. She had always lived in Coldwater except for following her former husband in the military service to Kentucky and Texas and spending the winters in Florida for ten years.
Survivors include her daughter, Delores (Dennis) DeVault; grandson, Erin (Jenni) Koch; great-grandchildren, Cody (Haile Altaffer) Koch and Zoe Koch; great-great-granddaughter, Emerlee Koch; aunt, Bonnie Smith, and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and son, William Chester Tait.

Rest in Peace Ms. Tait. I have fond memories of the slumber parties you were brave enough to play hostess to when Dede and I were young.

I remember visiting Shirley when she lived on Henry Street in Coldwater when I was a little girl. It was always such a fun, exciting visit to be in town riding bikes on sidewalks instead of gravel roads! I remember her making peach fritters for breakfast and the many fun activities she planned for us. God Bless and God's very best to all the family during this sad time. May you Rest in Peace Shirley!
