She was born in Harrisburg, PA on January 25, 1929 to the late Benjamin F. and Pearl E. (Gates) Harvey, Sr. and was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Harold. She was a graduate of John Harris High School. After high school, she worked briefly at the state capital in the typing pool before staying home to raise the couple's five children. Lorraine taught swimming lessons for 30 years for the Red Cross at the Rutherford swimming pool and to handicapped individuals for Harrisburg Area Community College for several years. In later years she also worked at the school cafeterias at South Side Elementary School and Central Dauphin East Junior High School.
Surviving are a son, Richard Follett and wife Ginny of Lebanon, and four daughters, Deborah Chappell of Hershey, Donna Grimm and husband Ed of Mechanicsburg, Diane Borger and husband Mark of Mechanicsburg, and Lori Kostelac and husband Larry of Mechanicsburg. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
A charter member of Christ United Methodist Church (now CrossPoint Church), Lorraine also served on the church's original building committee, contributed as a substitute Sunday School teacher, served for several years as secretary of the Administrative Board, was a member of the United Methodist Women and was a willing volunteer for many other activities. Lorraine especially enjoyed family gatherings and annual family beach vacations, making candy for family and friends, and hosting neighborhood summer picnics in the family's backyard for thirty plus years.

Deb, Rick, Donna, Diane, Lori,
Sorry to hear of your mothers passing. I will always remember her as a sweet loving neighbor. I think about all the fun we had as neighbors and all backyard parties over the years, and how lucky we kids had it with such a great environment to grow up in. That was due to all the fine parents we all had such as yours and others, and that we all got along so well, helping each other out when needed. Something that seems to be lost nowadays. I will always remember your mothers WOOPIE pies they were my favorite. Hope to see you all at the viewing.

My heart, thoughts, and prayers go out to all of you. She was the kindest, sweetest, and most loving, unselfish woman I have ever met. I had the pleasure, as her Nurse at VibraLife, of providing care and compassion for this wonderful lady. Nothing ever bothered Lorraine. She was always more concerned about making others happy and "mothering" those that needed help. She was blessed to have 5 beautiful, caring, loving, dedicated children of whom I had the priviledge and pleasure to know. Her eyes lit up when each of them visited her daily and brought in or took her out for her favorite 'hot fudge sundaes'! Lorraine was extremely proud of her children and would introduce me to each of them every time they visited. She was my 'night owl'...she routinely kept me company in the TV room across from the Nursing station after dinner until 10PM, at which time, she would turn off the TV and hand me the TV remote and lovingly say goodnight. Hold on to those wonderful, happy memories of your Mom and cherish them forever. She has touched my heart and will always hold a 'special' place in my heart forever. With my deepest sympathy and love,
Kathy Yates, LPN

The TV in the residents' living room at VibraLife is playing but no one is there and I miss Mrs. Follett's face smiling from her favorite chair. I will also miss being an observer of 4 daughters who poured so much love into the care of their mother. It speaks volumes about what a wonderful mother she must have been and still is) and just as much about the daughters(and son, of course)
Memory Eternal, Mrs. Follett
