James Spellman Obituary

James F. Spellman

AGE: 81 • Middletown

James F. Spellman, born June 1st, 1934, passed away on Friday, January 22nd. He lived an amazing 81 years and touched the hearts of many.

Jimmy was born in Jersey City and later moved to Secaucus, Lake Hiawatha, and finally Middletown, NJ, where he settled with his family. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Parish. James was also a member of the Lombardi Council of the Knights of Columbus.

Jimmy was a faithful Marine and served in Japan and worked as a Rifle Range Instructor at Parris Island. Being a Marine was one of his proudest achievements.

He attended St Peter's College in Jersey City and graduated from Rutgers University the year his first daughter was born.

His multi- faceted career includes working for Maxwell House, as a pharmaceutical rep and detailer for many medical companies, at MD Medical News Magazine and finally as the VP of publishing for The Cortland Group, Ossining, NY. After he retired, he also worked as a bouncer at Kelly's Tavern in Neptune NJ, because he could never sit still.

He is survived by his daughter, Donna M Triska, Middletown, his daughter and son in law Kerrianne Spellman and John M. Kotch Jr, Aberdeen, his grandson, Tyler James Triska, Middletown, His brother and sister in law Robert and Gloria Spellman, Lansdale PA, his sister, Ann DeSimone, Staten Island, NY as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Regina Spellman and his parents, Anthony and Louise Spellman.

It is hard to imagine a world without Jimmy. He loved the Giants…..he loved to Golf….he loved spending time with his friends at Brannigan's in Red Bank…but mostly he loved his family. He loved to live and never gave up. His family thanks all of you for your love and support over the years. Jimmy's life will leave an imprint on all of us.

Dear Donna, Carolyn and I just heard of Jimmy's passing. We are heartbroken. I will always remember the good times we had together. Regina has waited a long time for Jimmy and I know he is happy to be with her. And Jimmy's sense of humor is already brightening things behind the Pearly Gates. Donna, I know that Jimmy couldn't survive the last few years without your love and care. God Bless you. Love Bruce Richmond

Donna and Kerri - you are both in my thoughts and prayers. Your Dad was one of a kind. Always laughing and always love able. I ran into your Dad at Branigans Pub in Sea Girt about 20 years ago. And was amazed that he remembered me. I have many happy memories in my heart at your parents home. Hugs to both of you. My heart is breaking at your loss.
