Earl Springer Obituary

Earl W. Springer

89, of Indianapolis, passed away on January 26, 2016 surrounded by his family. Earl was born October 23, 1926 in Indianapolis and graduated from Ben Davis High School. He served in the Air National Guard of the US Air Force from 1951-53. He met his wife Pat while stationed in Alexandria, Louisiana and they were married August 30, 1952. They celebrated 63 years of marriage last fall.

Earl worked at General Electric and had a long career in the appliance business. His retirement lasted only a few weeks and he then worked at Wells Florist for 12 years.  When they closed, he found a job at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway that he enjoyed for over 10 years. Earl was an avid sports fan and he followed IU Basketball and the Colts closely. His longevity is attributed to his daily walks on the Monon Trail.

Earl is survived by his wife Patricia Ann Brainard Springer, sons Kent Alan (Mark Luers) Springer and Bruce Earl (Kim) Springer; grandsons Christopher Bruce Springer and Nicholas Wade Springer.

A Memorial Visitation will be held Sunday, January 31, 2016 from 2 to 5 p.m. with the Memorial Service Monday, February 1, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Flanner and Buchanan-Broad Ripple. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association as Earl's wife currently suffers from this disease.
