Green Mary Alice Green, age 89 passed away on January 22, 2016 in Marysville, Ca. She was born on October 19,1926 in New Orleans, La. She attended the Orleans Parish Public Schools and graduated from McDonogh# 35. Mary then attended Booker T. Washington School of Clothing Design and Sewing. Mary was an outstanding soloist and leader of her choir and participated in or was the leader of many church activities. In 2005, following Hurricane Katrina, she moved to Marysville, California with her daughter. Mary continued her service and singing in the Bethel A.M.E. Church Choir. She was preceded in death by her parents Spencer Thomas Sr. and Alice Jones Thomas, her husband Frank Green, one son Robert E. Brown, one sister Emma CoCo and brother Spencer Thomas Jr. Mary is survived by her daughters and son-in-law Zenobia and Charles Brokenbrough, and Vanessa Brooks of Marysville, Ca; son, Bertell R. Brown Jr. of New Orleans, La., seven grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Third Rose of Sharon Baptist Church 2132 Third Street, New Orleans, La. on Saturday, January 30, 2016 for 11:00 a.m. Rev. Joseph Jackson officiating. Such a lovely lady I have been missing MS . Alice since she went to move CA. With her daughter and saddened me to hear about her passing this way but I know my Grandfather & then gang are happy to be reunited in that heavenly place .they stay at the 3 Rose together she will be missed and loved as my Grandmother
