Mr. John Thomas a resident of Hammond, LA, passed away Friday, January 29, 2016. Mr. Thomas was born September 5, 1944 in New Orleans, LA. He served his country in the Army for 6 years and also a Military Police. Mr. Thomas was a member of the Ponchatoula Kiwanis Club where he served as District Lt. Governor and local chapter President and worked at Sears for over 33 years. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Mrs. Suzanne Bower Thomas; son, John Wes Thomas and wife Rebecca and a daughter, Susan Laurie Thomas; 2 grandsons', Sean Benjamin Eckelson and John Henry Thomas and one sister, Shirley Thomas Burow. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 1, 2016 at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 100 W. Magnolia St. Ponchatoula, LA. 70454, from 9:00am until funeral service time of 11:00am. Interment will immediately follow at Bonnie Cemetery in Angie, LA. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Ponchatoula Kiwanis Club.

We miss you Dad. It has been almost a year. I am comforted in knowing that you are no longer suffering. Uncle Scotty has joined you just recently. Let him know that we will take care of Aunt Tina, Lindsay and her family, and Lauren.
