Joyce M. (Snow) Sullivan, 79, of Lynn, passed away peacefully and free of any more pain after many years of chronic, difficult illness on Saturday, February 6, 2016 surrounded by her family. Born in West Newbury, she was the daughter of the late Norine (Curley) Snow. Joyce was the beloved wife of the late John G. “Sully” Sullivan; the loving mother of Michael J. Sullivan and his wife, Lynn of Newburyport, Patrick J. Sullivan and his wife, Laura of Lynnfield, Colleen L. Hayward and her husband, Greg of Manchester, NH, Noreen E. Lawson and her husband Adam of Lynn and Ellen M. Hollingsworth and her husband, Joe of Middleton; the cherished grandmother of Sean and his wife, Jennifer, Ryan, Amy, Tyler and Megan Sullivan, Jonathan and Brianna Hayward, Jeremy and Jacquelyn Sullivan, Vanessa McGriff and her husband, Jerrold, Jr. and Keyana Lawson, and Kaitlyn and Joe Hollingsworth, Jr. and 6 great-grandchildren; the dear sister of Margaret White of Lynn and Nora Shamberger of Woodstock, NH. She was also the aunt of several nieces and nephews. Joyce was a waitress for many years in the greater Lynn area until her retirement, including at Jule’s Restaurant in Lynn, Heck Allen’s, Saugus, and Rolly’s and Hayward’s in Lynn. Joyce enjoyed playing bingo and taking bus trips to Foxwoods with her friends, but most of all enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and her cat, Lucy.
Joyce’s funeral will be held from the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St., Lynn on Thursday, February 11th at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Church, 8 S. Common St, Lynn. Relatives and friends invited. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, February 10th from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family would like to extend its thanks to all of the compassionate health care providers at Union Hospital in Lynn for the wonderful care that Joyce received from them during her frequent stays and visits over many years.
