FLETCHER - Raymond J Minton, age 82, passed away at 9:20 a.m. on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 in the Elmcroft of Florence Senior Living Community, Florence, KY. Born on January 9, 1934 in Slone Valley, KY, he was a son of the late John and Martha (Dunaway) Minton. He was preceded in death by his wife Alta on June 29, 2001. Raymond was a former member of the St. Paris Community Church of the Nazarene and attended the Church of the Nazarene in Crescent Springs, KY. He served his country in the Army Reserves. He was an avid Reds and Bengals fan. Raymond retired from Schmidt's Poultry in Crescent Springs, KY and the Kenton County School System. Raymond is survived by nine children: Dave Hodges of NC; Tim (Sue) Minton of Hamilton, OH; Carolyn (Dennis) Bentley of Sidney, OH; Linda (Al) Glines of Casstown, OH; Bonnie Burnside of Sidney, OH; Darlene Smith of Casstown, OH; Ed Hale of FL; Roger (Sherry) Hale of Troy, OH; Ronda Osborne of Taylor Mills, KY; and Marcy Kantzer of Covington, OH. He was a loving grandfather to numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Albert (Nancy) Minton of Christiansburg, OH, a sister, Delpha Henry of Ashville, OH, and special friend, Wanda Dressing of Florence, KY. In addition to his father, John Minton, and his mother Martha Minton Hicks, he was preceded in death by a son, Jack Hale, four brothers and one sister. Funeral services will he held on Friday, February 26, 2016 at 1 p.m. in the St. Paris Community Church of the Nazarene, 3560 N. St. Rt. 235, Saint Paris, Ohio 43072, with Reverend Tom Bolinger presiding. Burial will follow in Fletcher Cemetery. There will be an hour of visitation in the church prior to the funeral service beginning at noon. Memorial contributions may be made to Elmcroft of Florence, Kentucky, 212 Main Street, Florence, KY 41042, or to the St. Paris Community Church of the Nazarene, 3560 N.
