SHELTON, Suzanne Moore (Tourtellot) 55, of Lake George, CO, formerly of Winchester, MA, passed away on February 17, 2016 following a sudden and brief illness. The youngest of four children, Suzy was born on May 21, 1960 to Raymond B. and Emily (Hanson) Tourtellot in Chelsea, Massachusetts. Suzy graduated from Winchester High School in 1978 and married Brian Shelton on October 3, 1981. Suzy and Brian along with their young son Brett left New England in 1996 to build their beautiful home in Lake George, Colorado. Suzy led an extremely active and productive life and was known for her energy, work ethic, strength, intelligence, bright mind, strong sense of style, loving heart for people and all animals, beauty and her sense of fun. She was an accomplished horsewoman and enjoyed hikes and skiing with family. Despite holding several busy and demanding professional roles in her life, she was able to spend key years at home helping to raise Brett. Suzy was preceded in death by her parents. Surviving family members include her husband David Brian Shelton of Lake George, CO, son Brett Michael Shelton of Battle Ground, WA, brother Bruce Tourtellot and wife Catherine of Pepperell, MA, sisters Jane Hanson of AZ and Joan Brownell and husband Peter of Charlotte, NC, brother-in-law Allen Shelton and sister-in-law Linda Fox; both of Mystic CT. Suzy also leaves loving nephews Peter Brownell and Daniel Tourtellot, nieces Jeanne Brownell and Alison Tourtellot, as well as her Aunt Trudy Tourtellot of Greenville, SC and many cousins. She was dearly loved and will be forever missed. Arrangements by Front Range Crematory, Colorado Springs, CO. A memorial service will be in Ripley Chapel (First Congregational Church) in Winchester, MA on May 21, 2016. In lieu of flowers, Suzy would wish that donations in her memory be made to St. Jude's Hospital; a place of healing that turns nobody away.
