KAUSLER STELLA (KEAN) "DUCKY" (SALE)
Age 82, passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. Ducky was preceded in death by her late husbands, Allan Kean and Sonny Kausler; her daughter, Karen Rice; her parents; and her siblings, Richard Sale, Donald Sale, Greta Speroulias and Bobby Sale. She is survived by her children, Allan and Martha Kean, Donna and Steve Young, and Sandra and Richard Hlipala; as well as her siblings, Pat Hrasky (James), Dennis Sale, and Mary Berneking (Bob). She was adored by her grandchildren, Aaron (Summer) Kean, Jami (Heath) Graff, Dana (Brandon) Wheeler, Ashley Rice (Corey) Schaufus, Weston (Sylvia) Rice, Ariel (Jarred) Rice Isgette, Cassie Young, and Cameron Young; her great-grandchildren, Alex Graff, Arianna Schaufus, Reese Wheeler, Jase Graff, Gavin Wheeler and Violet Kean, will miss their GG. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom we did not have space to name. Born and raised in East St. Louis, IL the daughter of Simon and Stella Sale. "Ducky" as she was lovingly known, was a nickname she picked up when she was a little girl who enjoyed playing with ducks at her father's poultry business. She and her young family put down roots in Scott Twp. located in South Hills of Pittsburgh in 1964, where she had lived until passing. She worked for and retired from Columbia Gas. She was a member of several area social clubs and enjoyed the company of her friends and family. She was a master bridge player and organized a woman volleyball group at Henry Roberts Gym in Bower Hill during the 1960s as well. Friends received Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. at the SZAFRANSKI - EBERLEIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 101 Third St., Carnegie, where funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. with burial to follow in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. The family is asking for donations in lieu of flowers in Stella's name to the Washington Health System Foundation, 155 Wilson Ave., Washington, PA 15301.
